Today we drove 282 miles from Lakewood, NM down through Texas to Deming, NM. We saw one antelope and that was it for wildlife. The clouds finally broke up and blue sky began showing through about halfway to Deming. We passed through El Paso on the north side by travelling through Ft. Bliss. There was quite a bit of new construction there; it appears to be a pretty large Army base. My cousin, Pat, was there with her husband back in the 60s and I think she would be amazed to see how much it has changed.
We got settled in our spot by about 5:30, enjoyed left-overs for dinner and will probably call it an early night. Tired…
