After ten days in Deming, NM, it was time to move a little farther north. So, at around 9:30 we settled up with the Escapees Park we’d been staying in and headed east and north to the Truth or Consequences area. Higher winds were forecast for the afternoon so we wanted to get settled in before then. We arrived at a park near Elephant Butte around 11:30 and got parked, leveled and settled.
I did a little cleaning before we left Deming and finished up in Elephant Butte. Sure is handy to always have your house with you! Then we headed for T or C, which is known for the hot springs that is under the downtown area. We located a discount coupon for what appeared to be one of the nicer hot springs businesses and spent a very relaxing hour there. It overlooked the river and “mountains” beyond, so the scenery was better than most areas we’ve seen around here so far. Alaska-scenic, it ain’t!
On the way home we stopped by Wal-Mart for groceries and then Taco Bell for something to eat. Nice, relaxing day. Tomorrow we hope to find a paddleboat or something to rent for a bit. We’ve really missed boating and need a water fix soon!
