Seeing Schertz

So hard to say goodbye – but it was time to hit the road again. We hitched up amid several sessions of SKP’s hugs and headed down the highway about 11:15. Settled into our campsite in Schertz, TX about an hour later. Had a little problem with some fuses but John finally tracked down the pesky little things and – voila! – AC!!

After a little lunch, we hopped in the car and scouted out our route to the generator repair place for tomorrow morning. No truck stops within about 50 miles so we found a station that we could get in and out of OK tomorrow. Picked up a few more groceries and then home to take a walk around the park. Looks like a fair number of permanent “settlers” here, too. We’ve been seeing this wherever we go and are not sure whether more people are doing this because of the economy or if there’s no real change in numbers, but we just didn’t realize it before…

We’re enjoying temps in the 70’s today; partly cloudy and just a little breeze. Tomorrow afternoon we’ll head over to John’s cousins, Rick & Judy, for a visit while we’re in the area. Meanwhile we’re enjoying some more cable TV after six months in the RGV with only local stations!
