Six months in one spot – it’s past time to move! We left MVP at 10:00 am with friends Dick & Karin following in their 5th wheel. At around noon, we stopped at a rest stop and did a quick geo-cache before our picnic lunch. We’re hoping to learn more about geo-caching from these experts!
We made another “stretch” break in George West where Dick & Karin discovered some damage to their 5er. It appeared that something was kicked up by the tires and it wrinkled two lower panels and then punched entirely through the back corner of the fiberglass bumper – ouch! The good part of the trip, though, was seeing the wild flowers along the way. We probably missed the peak season, but they are still beautiful!
Lora insisted on trusting the GPS and “she” (this is a family blog so I can’t use her true name!) led us down a regular street not far from downtown San Antonio to hook up with another freeway. We were all stressing about the low hanging trees, but arrived safely at about 4:00 pm in the park in Boerne where the rally is to be held. We all got settled in and then joined about 8 other friends (new and old) for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Good eats and good time!
